True Crime and News Video Templates
True crime and investigation videos need graphics that feel serious, not cartoonish. The evidence board pins its cards up and joins them with red string one by one, the case file opens with the details in monospace and a stamp, and the 911 call shows its transcript line by line in a sober tone.
To reconstruct events there is a timeline over a map, a floor plan with a route through the rooms and a newspaper clipping where the key line gets highlighted. Upload a screenshot of a document and it comes in with a zoom on the part that matters; mark what is confirmed with the verified stamp.

Questions
- Can I put my own documents and photos in?
- Yes. «Your screenshot, highlighted» takes an image you upload, and several templates have slots for photos. Make sure you have the right to show what you upload.
- Do these work for news channels too?
- Yes: the breaking news bar with a ticker, the spinning newspaper and the verified / unverified label are made for news and commentary.
- Do I need After Effects?
- No. Every template is edited in your browser: type your text, choose colors and format (16:9, 9:16 or 1:1), watch the live preview and export.
- What do I export, and does it work in my editor?
- Most templates export as a ProRes 4444 .mov with a transparent background, which you place on a track above your clip in CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro. You can also export an MP4 with your own clip behind it. Always in Full HD.
- Is it free?
- Editing and previewing are free and need no account. To export you sign in with Google; during the open beta, new accounts get export credits at no cost.
