Terms & refunds

Draft. These terms describe how AnimateMyVideo works today and are still under review: they may change before launch. If anything is unclear, write to us.

AnimateMyVideo (animatemyvideo.com) is a library of animation templates for video editors: pick one, change its text, colors and data, and export the video to drop into your edit. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. We wrote them so you can read them without a lawyer.

The site is in beta

We're building it while you use it: it may change, have bugs or go down for a while, and some features are marked “soon” because they don't exist yet. We don't promise it will always work or never fail; we do promise to tell you clearly what's there and what isn't.

While the closed beta lasts, every new account gets 1,500 credits a month for free, with no card and nothing charged. It's there to try the product, not a plan: when the beta ends, new accounts will stop getting it, and we'll tell you before changing what your account has.

Your account

You sign in with your Google account. Your account is personal: don't share it or sell it, and keep your Google login safe, because whoever gets into it gets in here.

We may suspend an account that's used to harm the service or other people: uploading illegal content, trying to get around credit limits or attacking the site. And you can ask us to delete yours whenever you like (see Privacy).

Credits and plans

Exporting a video spends credits (currently 10 per export). Viewing, editing, previewing and saving templates costs nothing. If an export fails, the credits go back to your account automatically.

Your plan's credits renew every month, and the ones you don't use don't roll over. Top-ups you buy separately never expire.

The plans on sale today are Starter ($6.99 a month) and Creator ($15 a month), in US dollars, taxes not included; what each one includes is on the Pricing page. Anything marked “soon” joins your plan at no extra cost once it ships.

There's no checkout on the site yet: plans are switched on by hand and, during the beta, nothing is charged.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel anytime, no lock-in: your plan keeps running until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then it doesn't renew.

Starter starts with 7 free days: cancel before then and you pay nothing.

If we charge you by mistake — twice, after you cancelled, or an amount that isn't your plan's — we refund that money in full.

And if you pay for a plan and it isn't for you, write to us within 14 days: if you haven't exported anything with it yet, we refund the payment. Credits you've already spent aren't refunded as money.

What you export is yours to use

You can use the videos you export in your own projects and in projects you make for others, commercial ones included, on any platform (YouTube, social media, ads, TV), with no credit to us needed. What you've already exported stays yours to use even if you cancel.

What you can't do is resell or hand out the templates, or the animations as standalone assets: uploading them to a stock site, selling them as a pack or building a competing library with them. The templates, their design and the code that drives them remain ours; what you get is permission to use them this way.

What you upload stays yours

Your clips, photos, logos and text are yours. You give us permission only to store them and use them for what you ask: showing them to you, putting them in your templates and rendering your videos. You need the right to use what you upload: don't upload anything illegal, or anything belonging to someone else without their permission.

If you publish a template to the Community, other users can see it with your author name and copy it to their account, with your text. You can unpublish it anytime; copies already made stay in the accounts of whoever copied them.

How far our responsibility goes

We do our best to keep everything working and your files safe, but the service is provided as is, in beta: keep a copy of what you export. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months.

If these terms change

We'll post the change here with its date. If it really affects you — prices, or what you can do with what you export — we'll let you know before it takes effect.
