YouTube end screen layout builder — plan it, then animate it

Drag up to four end screen elements — video, playlist, subscribe and link — onto a 16:9 frame, or start from a ready layout. Drop in a frame of your own video to see what they'll cover, then download a transparent 1920×1080 PNG guide to place on your timeline while you edit the last seconds.

Plan your end screen

Start from:
Add:3/4
  • ✓ Looks clean: no overlaps and room to breathe.

From YouTube Help (checked Nov 6, 2026): end screens go in the last 5–20 seconds, the video must be 25 seconds or longer, and 16:9 videos can have up to 4 elements. YouTube doesn't publish exact element sizes, so the boxes here are approximate; the dashed margin is our suggestion, not a rule.

End screen rules from YouTube Help

End screens appear in the last 5 to 20 seconds of a video, the video has to be at least 25 seconds long, and a 16:9 video can show up to four elements. You add them in YouTube Studio after uploading — but the space for them has to be planned while you edit, or the elements end up covering your face, your text or the best shot of the video.

YouTube doesn't publish exact sizes for each element, and it lets you resize video elements, so the boxes here are approximate. They're close enough to plan the layout and leave the right gaps.

Layouts that work

Two videos and a subscribe button is the classic: one “best for viewer” video chosen by YouTube and one you pick, with the subscribe circle between them. A video plus a playlist works when you have a series. If you talk to camera or use a character at the end, keep one side free and stack the elements on the other.

Whatever you choose, leave space between elements so viewers on phones don't tap the wrong one, and keep them away from the very edge of the frame.

Use the PNG guide in your editor

The downloaded guide is a transparent 1920×1080 image with colored outlines where each element goes. Put it on the top track over the last 20 seconds of your edit, arrange your background, text or animation around the boxes, then delete the guide before exporting.

Make the end screen move

A static background under the YouTube elements works, but a little motion keeps people watching those last seconds. Our animated end screen template draws the frames, your channel name and a subscribe prompt in the same positions, ready to export in Full HD for any editor.
