Subscribe Button Animation for Premiere Pro — Transparent, With Your Channel Name

The usual way to get a subscribe button into Premiere is a green screen clip and the Ultra Key effect, and the glow around the button rarely survives the keying. These buttons are made with your channel name, avatar and colors and exported with a real alpha channel, so there's nothing to key: the button goes on V2 and your video shows through around it.

Pick the classic button with the cursor click, the glass channel card, the like-and-subscribe bar, a like, a bell or a follow card.

How to add it in Premiere Pro

  1. 1. Make the button

Open a template below, type your channel name, add your avatar if the style has one and choose the color. Pick 16:9, or 9:16 for a vertical sequence.

  2. 2. Export without background

You get a ProRes 4444 .mov with transparency. Choose 2× (4K) if your sequence is 4K.

  3. 3. Import and place it on V2

File → Import (Ctrl+I / Cmd+I), then drag the button onto V2 at the moment you ask viewers to subscribe.

  4. 4. Line up the click

Step through the frames until the cursor presses the button and put a click sound on an audio track at that frame. It's what makes the moment land.

  5. 5. Reuse it

Hold Alt (Option on Mac) and drag the clip to copy it to a second reminder near the end of the video.

Show it after you've given the viewer something, usually within the first minute, not in the first five seconds. Three to five seconds on screen is enough. If it ever shows a black box, check Modify → Interpret Footage on the clip and make sure «Ignore Alpha Channel» is off.

Questions

Why not use a green screen subscribe button?
Keying with Ultra Key works, but soft glows and shadows turn into a green halo and anything green in the button disappears. A transparent .mov has no background to remove.
Can I put my real subscriber count on it?
The styles with a counter have a field for the number, so you type your own. It doesn't update by itself: it's part of the video.
Do I need After Effects?
No. Every template is edited in your browser: type your text, choose colors and format (16:9, 9:16 or 1:1), watch the live preview and export.
What do I export, and does it work in my editor?
Most templates export as a ProRes 4444 .mov with a transparent background, which you place on a track above your clip in CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro. You can also export an MP4 with your own clip behind it. Always in Full HD.
Is it free?
Editing and previewing are free and need no account. To export you sign in with Google; during the open beta, new accounts get export credits at no cost.
